How a live venue works

One visit, start to finish. Each step links to the full guide for the person doing it.

The whole visit​

Step by step​

  1. The user checks in. They scan the code on their table, or find the venue in the app. See Check in at a venue.
  2. The user says what they would love. They tap items from the venue's menu.
  3. A sponsor finds them. On Discover, by a code given in person, or by a shared link. See Find someone to treat.
  4. The sponsor pays. If the user asks to approve gifts first, nothing is charged until they say yes.
  5. The venue is told at once. The order arrives as paid, with the table and seat. See Incoming orders.
  6. A member of staff claims it and serves it. See Serve incoming orders.
  7. The venue is owed the money. Once the order is marked fulfilled.

When the visit ends​

The user selects Leave venue, or their time runs out. They are no longer shown as live, and sponsors can no longer pay for venue items for them there.
