Prepaid tabs
A prepaid tab is credit a customer holds at your venue. Sponsors paid it in through the customer's sponsor link. You take the price of what you serve off it.
Take an order off a tab
- The customer shows their tab code.
- Open
Prepaid tabs. - Under Redeem from a tab, enter the code.
- Enter the amount of the order.
- Select
Take off the tab.
You can also do this from Orders, where the tab appears when you search for the code.
What the page shows
| On the page | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Outstanding across all customers | Total credit not yet spent |
| Customers with credit | Each customer and their balance |
When the money is yours
Money a sponsor paid onto a customer's tab becomes owed to you as it is taken off. On your Payments page it moves from "Held on prepaid tabs" to "Owed to you now".
Your venue's own balance
Payments through your own sponsor links are already owed to you. Your venue's own balance on this page is only a count of treats left to give away.
If an item is out of stock
When a sponsored item cannot be served and has no substitute, its value moves onto the guest's tab. They spend it on something else.
Keep it simple at the till
- One balance per customer. No tickets per coffee.
- Take off exactly the price of what you served.
- A customer can pass some of their credit to a friend. That friend then shows a code of their own.
